6years and 5months old kid -Sakshi reported with pain and malaligned teeth in her upper anterior region
Clinical examination and special investigations revealed teeth overretained 51 and 61 with 51 being nonvital and supraerupted.
tooth 11 erupting labially causing food lodgement and bleeding in the whole region
physiological grade-1 mobility present in 51 and 61 being immobile
IOPA'S suggesting 21tooth bud present and clinically signs of it to erupt palatally
treatment plan decided for her
1) extraction of 51 and 61
2) gum astringent to be applied at the affected site
3) follow up after 3 months
Sakshi being uncooperative on the dental chair was making it impossible for me to motivate her for local anaesthetic injection.
Therefore a new and advanced technique called dental hypnotism was used in this case which worked amazingly in this patient and she happily let me do the rest of the treatment
